Help with the app
AI Usage Tracker
support.
Find the right account, understand a missing reading, and keep your reset times in view.
Installing on your Mac
The app requires macOS 15 or later and supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- Complete checkout and wait for the private download page to confirm your payment.
- Download and open the disk image.
- Drag AI Usage Tracker into Applications.
- Open the app from Applications and connect your provider accounts.
The installer is signed and notarized by Apple. You do not need Xcode or Terminal.
Bookmark your private download page to return later. Keep its link private because it grants access to your purchase. For a pending payment, leave the page open or return after the payment completes. If you lose the link, email tom@aiusagetracker.dev from your purchase email address and include your receipt number. Refunded purchases cannot generate new download links.
Connect the account you use
Claude, Codex and Cursor use compatible sessions already on your Mac. Each integration has different requirements:
- Claude setup: sign in to Claude Code. Claude Desktop can also provide cached readings for the matching account.
- Codex setup: use a compatible ChatGPT account sign-in. An API-key-only login cannot supply these account allowances.
- Cursor setup: use the account signed in to the editor or Cursor agent.
After adding a separate Claude or Codex profile, restart AI Usage Tracker so it can discover the account.
Missing or delayed readings
Check the provider's sign-in and confirm that the account is the one you want to track. Renew an expired session in the tool that owns it. A provider rate limit can delay updates; repeated refreshes will not restore the allowance.
Some accounts do not expose every usage window. The app shows the readings available from that provider instead of treating missing data as zero usage. Read the provider's setup page for its specific limitations.
Account resets and public announcements
The Mac app reads reset times returned for your account. The free Codex reset tracker follows public announcements and lets you save a countdown manually. That browser countdown does not connect to your account or verify that an allowance reset.
Information to include in a support request
Include your macOS version, app version, provider name, the status shown, and the steps that reproduce the problem. Crop screenshots to the relevant reading.
Never include API keys, access tokens, sign-in files, passwords, prompts or private conversation content. Read how the app and website handle data.
