AI Usage Tracker

AI Usage Tracker vs SessionWatcher (2026)

A Windows PC changes this comparison immediately. SessionWatcher has a shipping Windows product. The installer sold on this site is for Mac, even though our repository includes work on a Windows port.

When SessionWatcher is better

The Windows product makes SessionWatcher a practical option for people working across both operating systems. Its documentation lists x64 and ARM64 builds. Our Mac download cannot serve that role.

The product facts also describe estimated cost reporting and a Mac-linked iPhone and Apple Watch companion in beta. If those are central to your workflow, evaluate them during the documented trial. The companion does not currently work with its Windows app.

Compare the plan you would actually buy

A low entry price is not the price of every feature. Solo covers one of Claude Code, Codex or Cursor on one device. Bundle covers those three. Multiple accounts and the full provider catalog require Pro.

Prices checked on 8 October 2026: Solo $6.99, Bundle $14.99 and Pro Lifetime $59 are advertised introductory prices. The vendor lists increases after 31 October, using Paris time. Pro Annual is listed at $24. Check the pricing page before deciding.

Where our Mac app fits

AI Usage Tracker puts provider rings on the edge you choose. Claude and Codex profiles can sit beside each other, and supported agent sessions show whether they are working or need input. The $9.99 purchase does not put those integrations behind a second app plan.

Its local Ollama and LM Studio integrations are useful when a cloud quota is only half your workflow. Loaded-model context, memory and generation metrics answer different questions from a subscription limit. Do not buy it expecting a cross-device billing dashboard.

Cost estimates are not invoices

A token-price estimate is useful for comparing work, but it is not necessarily an extra amount owed on top of a subscription. Use the provider’s billing records for payments and the account quota for remaining allowance.

SessionWatcher explicitly says it is not a company-wide spend dashboard. Teams licensing buys seats; it does not give an administrator a consolidated view of everyone’s usage.

Our recommendation

Pick SessionWatcher when Windows, its widgets or its paid reporting features are the requirement. Pick AI Usage Tracker when the job is monitoring your own Mac sessions in a compact edge notch. Check the actual plan and device limit before comparing prices.

A practical way to choose

  1. Write down your operating systems and number of devices.
  2. Match your providers and accounts to Solo, Bundle or Pro.
  3. Try the intended display during a real coding session before paying.

Questions

Does our $9.99 purchase include a Windows installer?

No. The commercially delivered installer on this site is for Mac. A repository port is not a released installer.

Is SessionWatcher always a subscription?

No. Its pricing page lists one-time Solo and Bundle purchases, plus annual and lifetime Pro choices.

Does Pro for Teams show total team spend?

The product facts say there is no admin dashboard. Company usage and billing remain in the provider’s admin console.
