Best AI usage trackers for Windows developers (2026)
A Mac app with an attractive notch is not a Windows recommendation. The installer sold here is for Mac. These are Windows products to evaluate for your PC.
Disclosure: We make AI Usage Tracker. We recommend competitors when their documented features better fit the job.

Verify the Windows feature, not the Mac screenshot
Check architecture, operating-system version, credential sources and the actual Windows display. A shared brand name or a shared license does not prove every Mac feature exists on a PC.
Evaluate the tool with a fresh provider reading, then watch how it behaves while your editor is active. A taskbar, tray popover and floating widget each have different visibility trade-offs.
Win-CodexBar
- Best for
- A free community Windows tray monitor
- Price
- Free, open source
- Runs on
- Windows; community project
The project repository is the setup reference. Treat it as a distinct community product rather than an official Windows build from CodexBar’s original author.
Start here if a free current-quota view is the requirement. Confirm support for the provider and sign-in method you use on Windows.
Trade-off: Community maintenance and integration coverage must be checked on its own release page. We did not install or benchmark it.
SessionWatcher
- Best for
- A commercial taskbar readout
- Runs on
- macOS 14+; Windows 10 (2004+) and 11
Its Windows documentation lists Windows 10 (2004+) and 11, with x64 and ARM64 support. Match the license plan to your providers and accounts.
It is a suitable paid evaluation when a taskbar-integrated display is the feature you want.
Trade-off: Some widgets and companion features are Mac-only. The vendor says its Windows installer is not yet code-signed; review the current download details.
UsageScope
- Best for
- A store-distributed Windows dashboard
- Runs on
- macOS 13.5+; Windows, iPhone and Android versions
The UsageScope website links its Windows product and describes tray and desktop surfaces. Consider it if you want a dashboard and history through store distribution.
Check Windows purchase terms directly. The low Mac in-app price is not evidence of the Windows price.
Trade-off: Mobile sync and optional ranking have their own setup and data-sharing rules. Verify them for Windows rather than assuming the Mac path applies.
Syrtis (formerly TokenBar)
- Best for
- Free local token and estimated-cost history
- Price
- Free, open source
- Runs on
- macOS 14+ on Apple silicon; Windows x64 and ARM64
Its Windows builds are available for x64 and ARM64. The product emphasizes analyzing logs already on the computer.
It can complement a quota monitor when you need to explain which model or day produced the recorded workload.
Trade-off: Available local history does not cover work recorded elsewhere, and estimated costs are not settled provider charges.
Our recommendation
Evaluate the free tray monitor first if current quota is all you need. Compare SessionWatcher when taskbar integration and paid support matter. Compare UsageScope and Syrtis when historical analysis is the requirement. Our paid Mac app is outside this Windows shortlist.
A practical way to choose
- Check Windows version and CPU architecture.
- Verify the intended provider’s Windows credential path.
- Compare a fresh account reading and the display while working in your editor.
